Join us for a week of music, friendship and fun at the Southern Maine String Camp. We have orchestra, chamber music, sectionals, chorus and concerts every day. There will be lots of free time for swimming, tennis, field games, climbing wall, talent shows, campfires and more.

Don't miss the opportunity to work with the finest teachers at the most beautiful camp in Maine. We outgrew our 2009 location, so have moved to the YMCA Camp of Maine on pristine Lake Cobbosee in Winthrop. This large and well maintained camp offers plenty of room for rehearsals, concerts and indoor or outdoor activities.

AUDITIONS

Students will be placed in an orchestra and chamber groups based on age and ability, and the need to balance the ensembles. Students should be prepared for a short audition on the first day of camp, the audition will include a scale and part of a prepared piece that reflects thier level of playing. Sightreading will also be included.

HONORS STUDENT RECITAL

You may audition for the Honors Student Recital by sending a tape, CD or DVD of your entire solo to Anne Wilkinson. The deadline for submission is July 15, 2010. Students who are selected will rehearse with the faculty accompanist and perform at a special recital during the week of camp.
